Rollright Stones
Neolithic - Stone Circle, Standing Stone, Dolmen (Portal Tomb)
The Rollright Stones is the name given to a group of three different types of Neolithic megalithic monument. Folklore says the stones are the petrified remains of a king and his knights, but they are not the same age. The oldest is a 5,000 year old burial chamber (the Whispering Knights' dolmen), a late Neolithic stone circle (The King's Men), and a single standing stone (The King Stone).
